Background....
While I was working at Motorola, since I had more than 10 years of experience in video editing in Adobe Premiere and other video editing tools, I had the opportunity to work on a Video/Audio Editing tool called VideoManager under Unified Communications which is used by Public Safety Users for records and evidence management. My role was to redesign the timeline of the editor with addition to some new editing features , cutting footages, removing audio, blur car number plate , blur background people, add notes and captions to footage. The tool however was like the traditional video editing tool. So while I designing the portal, I realised it can be a very difficult work for the users to edit all that and thought wish they had an AI integration so it can make their work faster and efficient and accurate. Therefore, I challenged myself and try to solve what couldn't be done then dude to technical constraint. I undertook this project while keeping in mind a few of the needs of Motorola users during the design of this tool but mostly it for long-form video editors.

But first lets Deep Dive....
As a UX Designer our first question is always "Why are we doing this"?, "How is our product gonna solve peoples problem?", "How is our product going to be different from other products in market?", "What can we do differently?". So for this I did a competivev analysis for the two video editing tools that I have worked on Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro. Here's a list of few pain points users face while using these tools
Competitive Analysis of UX with traditional Video Editors

Pain-points Users Face
#1
Manual cutting, arranging clips, and finding the best takes is time-consuming and frustrating
#2

Manually adding subtitles and adjusting audio is tedious
#3

Different types of content require different editing styles
#4

Beginners struggle with complex video editing tools.
#5

Manual sorting clips on timeline can be frustrating when it's a long video.
Lets Brainstorm and figure out ideas to solve the problems.....
Based on the problems, lets see what can be done, what ideas we can come up with to solve the problems which will help us to finalise the Key features

Key Features
Focusing on users frustration, this are the key problems I am trying to solve. Number 1 point being the frustrating job as a video editor.
#1
Smart AI-Assisted Editing/Cut
-
Auto-Scene Detection: AI identifies key scenes, jump cuts, and highlights.
-

Experimenting with best effects can be tiring, users can suggest what kind of mood they want to set for their videos for which AI can suggest the best effects for they original videos.
-
Same can be done for themes, AI can suggest users editing ideas, specially with cuts and zooms and motions.
#4
Other Features
-
Smart captions
-
Audio suggestions for the theme selected
-
Set timeframes for each clip or the entire video so users are always aware of exceeding their desired length.
How to Approach...
Let's create a flow chart illustrating how users will navigate our application, utilizing key features to address their everyday challenges.
